Services

Everything needed to get a small business properly online.

Every project is different, so nothing here is a fixed package. We'll work out which of these you actually need, and you'll get a clear quote based on that. One item, AI chatbots, is still being built and is marked accordingly.

01

New Websites

A complete website built around what your business actually sells, from a blank page.

Who it's for
Businesses running on Facebook, Instagram, a directory listing, or nothing at all.
The problem it solves
People hear about you, search for you, and can't find a straight answer about what you do, where you are, or how to book.

I design and build the whole thing: the structure, the words, the layout and the code. You end up with a site that loads quickly, reads clearly on a phone, and gives customers an obvious next step. It's yours, and it's built so it can be updated and added to later.

What's included

  • A clear structure planned around the questions your customers actually ask
  • Design and build, written by hand rather than assembled from a template
  • Works properly on phones, tablets and desktops
  • Contact or enquiry form that reaches you reliably
  • Set up so Google can read and list your pages
  • Launched on your own domain, with hosting sorted

Technical detail. Statically rendered with server-side form handling. It loads fast, costs little to host, and there is nothing to patch every other week.

Website Redesigns

Keep what's working, fix what isn't, and bring an older site up to current standards.

Who it's for
Businesses with a site that's five years old, slow on mobile, or awkward to update.
The problem it solves
The site exists, but it looks dated, it's painful on a phone, and you've stopped sending people to it.

First I work out what your current site does well and where it loses people. Then I rebuild it: same business, clearer story, current build. Your existing content, photos and search rankings carry across, so you are not starting from zero.

What's included

  • Review of the current site: structure, speed, mobile experience, content
  • New design that keeps your brand recognisable
  • Content migrated across, tidied up where it needs it
  • Redirects set up so existing links and search results keep working
  • Noticeably faster loading
  • Easier for you to keep current

Technical detail. Old URLs are mapped to new ones with permanent redirects so accumulated search equity isn't thrown away.

Booking & Enquiry Integration

Turn interest into an actual booking or enquiry, without adding admin to your day.

Who it's for
Tour operators, accommodation, restaurants, wellness, and anyone taking appointments.
The problem it solves
Customers message you on three different platforms at odd hours, and half of them never follow through.

I connect your site to the booking system you already use, or set up a simple enquiry flow if a full booking engine is overkill. The aim is fewer missed enquiries and less back-and-forth, not another dashboard to check.

What's included

  • Enquiry forms that land in your inbox, formatted so you can act on them
  • Connection to an existing booking platform where you use one
  • Clear availability and 'what happens next' messaging
  • Click-to-call and click-to-email on mobile
  • Confirmation messaging so customers know it worked

Technical detail. Integrations run server-side, so booking provider credentials are never exposed in the browser.

SEO Foundations

Built so Google and your customers can understand what you offer, and where.

Who it's for
Any local business that wants to be found when someone searches for what they sell.
The problem it solves
You come up for your own business name, and nothing else. The people searching 'best breakfast Nelly Bay' never see you.

Groundwork, done properly from the start: sensible page structure, honest page titles, fast loading and clear location signals. There is no monthly retainer and no trick to it. The work is making your site legible to search engines and easy for people to act on.

What's included

  • Page titles and descriptions written for real search intent
  • A structure search engines can crawl without getting lost
  • Location and service information marked up accurately
  • Fast loading, which search engines measure
  • Sitemap and search console setup
  • Guidance on your Google Business Profile

Technical detail. Accurate structured data, a generated sitemap and canonical URLs. No keyword stuffing, and no claims your business can't back up.

Hosting & Maintenance

Someone local who keeps the site online, current and secure, so you don't have to think about it.

Who it's for
Anyone who doesn't want to become their own IT department.
The problem it solves
The site went down, the certificate expired, or the person who built it stopped answering emails.

Ongoing support is optional and sized to what you need. That might be hosting and security updates only, or it might include content changes through the season. Either way you have a person on the island to call.

What's included

  • Hosting on fast, reliable infrastructure
  • HTTPS and security updates kept current
  • Backups
  • Content and price updates when things change
  • Uptime monitoring
  • A human to contact when something looks wrong

AI Chatbots

Coming soon

Answer the same twenty questions automatically, and pass the real enquiries to you. In development, not yet available.

Who it's for
Businesses fielding constant repeat questions about hours, parking, ferries, pricing or availability.
The problem it solves
You answer “are you dog friendly?” and “what time does the last ferry go?” forty times a week.

The plan is a chatbot grounded in your own information: your hours, your services, your policies, so it answers from what you actually told it rather than making things up. It would hand over to a real enquiry when a question needs a person. I am building and testing this properly before offering it, because a chatbot that invents an answer about your business is worse than no chatbot.

What's included

  • Answers drawn from your real business information
  • Clear handover to a human enquiry when it matters
  • Honest limits, so it says when it does not know
  • Visitors told plainly that they are talking to an automated assistant
  • Conversation data handling explained upfront

Technical detail. In development. Retrieval will be scoped to content you supply, and the provider integration runs server-side.

I'm building this now and it isn't ready to sell yet. If it sounds useful, register your interest and I'll come back to you when it is, with honest pricing and no obligation.

Custom Integrations & Automation

Connect the tools you already use so information stops being retyped.

Who it's for
Businesses copying the same details between a form, a spreadsheet and an inbox.
The problem it solves
Every enquiry gets manually re-entered somewhere, and sometimes it doesn't.

If your website needs to talk to something else, such as a booking platform, a calendar, a mailing list, a point-of-sale or a spreadsheet, that can usually be automated. I'll scope it honestly, including telling you when it isn't worth building.

What's included

  • Enquiries routed automatically to the right place
  • Calendar and availability connections
  • Mailing list signup where you actually use one
  • Scheduled jobs for recurring updates
  • Sensible error handling, so failures surface instead of going quiet

Technical detail. API keys stay in server environment variables. Nothing sensitive is shipped to the browser.

Quotes

Straightforward websites. Sensible quotes.

There's no public price list here, because a three-page site for a trade business and a booking site for a tour operator are not the same job. What you get instead is a fixed scope and a fixed price, agreed before any work starts.

Scoped to what you need

If a feature won't earn its keep for your business, I'll tell you that rather than quoting for it.

No agency overhead

You're not paying for a sales team, an account manager, or an office in a capital city.

A clear quote, in writing

What's included, what it costs, and what would change the price. Before anything begins.

No hard sell

If the honest answer is that you don't need a new website right now, that's the answer you'll get.

How a project runs

The same process, whatever we build.

This website open on a laptop at a picnic table above the beach on Magnetic Island.
This site, being worked on where it is based.
  1. Step 1

    Tell me about your business

What you do, who your customers are, and what's frustrating you about how things work now. A short conversation is enough to start, in person on the island if that suits.

  2. Step 2

We work out what you actually need

Sometimes that's a full website. Sometimes it's three good pages and a working enquiry form. I'll tell you which, including when the smaller option is the right one.

  3. Step 3

    You get a clear quote

A fixed scope and a fixed price, written down, before anything starts. If something is likely to change the price later, you'll know that upfront.

  4. Step 4

    I design and build it

Design first so you can see where it's heading, then the build. You're not left wondering what's happening for six weeks.

Steps five to seven, covering review, launch and ongoing support, are set out on the home page.
